And so, the Laurier Heights project comes to a close. It’s always a little bitter sweet but I have saved the best for last. I finally get to show you my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE part of the flip (along with some of the finishing touches on the rest of the house…) I remember when we first purchased this charming little bungalow…it was seriously dated but had oh, so much potential. The living room had these immaculate, floor to ceiling windows and right away, I knew they were going to steal the show. And after coming home from our honeymoon and seeing the slope of the new ceiling, I could not have been more excited. So here’s a little glimpse of the before…and then let’s get this living room reveal started!

| Front Entry After |
To start, we ripped out the wooden wall in favour of a much more open front entry. Because I didn’t end up getting my black interior window frames (miscommunication!!), I had to add my black elsewhere. The door seemed like a great place for this and I think it looks striking and beautiful.

What seemed dated and dark, is now open and airy, with white walls, bamboo hardwood and gorgeous pot lighting in the sloped ceiling. In the corner, I staged a small “reading/music” nook. The perfect place to curl up with a favourite book or record and relax. This sectional fit perfectly in the space and even though we had plenty of natural light, I added another floor lamp to give great task lighting over the couch. A marble topped console table placed behind the sofa is a great place to stack accessories. My remodelled console table was a great addition to the far wall. I love how it all came together with the black accents and artwork! And of course, the focal point of the living room…the new fireplace addition! Not only do I love the black fireplace itself, but I’m really digging how we balanced it with a floating, wood mantle and two small white shelves. It’s the perfect mixture of textures! It really could not have come together better, in my opinion. It was everything that we were visualizing and dreaming of for this space. Can you see why it’s my favourite part of the project?
Well I better show you the rest of the house too, while I’m at it! Here’s the basement living room, wine cellar area, and basement bathroom, plus some gorgeous exterior shots! Thank you so much for all of the love and support during this project. It was another successful design and flip and we cannot wait to find a buyer for this lovely home.

I would have never thought of a black door and it adds so much to the space!
I want one in my house now! Actually, I saw this house that had all of their doors black – like bedroom doors, bathroom doors…everywhere! And it looked amazing!
Looks AMAZING Kristina!! You so talented! <3
Look who’s talking!!! 😉
