Yesterday, I celebrated another birthday, another year come and gone. But this birthday was a little different, especially with everybody asking…so??!!! How’s it feel turning 30?!?! Yes, it is definitely a milestone but I rarely think about age coinciding with a number these days. When I was in my “wild” early 20’s, I remember thinking that the idea of turning 30 was terrifying. It seemed so OLD. But now that it’s upon me, I am much more excited by this new decade than afraid. Why? Because I am more myself now than I ever was. I have clearer goals and more realistic aspirations, I have a career that I am excited about, I’m surrounded by the perfect friends and family that support me and I have the best husband a girl could ask for. I am more self assured and trusting of myself than I have ever been. The last year was such a gift and I feel like I really accomplished a lot (see my 29 things in my 29th year post here. I actually checked off the majority!!) Now, don’t get me wrong! It’s not all sunshine and roses all the time and I’ve met my fair share of challenges along the way. My health is not where I would want it to be and it’s pushed me to my breaking point at times. But it’s all a part of the journey.
This past weekend, my friends and I had a small, intimate gathering at the Project Loft, and it, once again, reminded me how precious life’s little moments are. I have good people in my life, near and far, and I am infinitely grateful for that.
(the space before we got our hands on it!) Janna’s amazing cake!!
I’m excited for my thirties. I’m excited to start a family, to dream even bigger with my husband and find projects that inspire us, and to continue being happy. So, how does it feel turning 30, you ask? Well, it feels pretty f*@%ing great! 🙂
such a fun night!!
Love this post! Where is your top/the cake topper from? I have a friends birthday coming up they would be perfect for!
Hi Miranda! Thanks for the comment! Actually, it was written by Justine Ma (her link is on my sidebar, she is a local calligrapher) and then my friend Janna used the template to cut it out of glitter card stock. BUT, I know Justine can do it all for you! Send her an email and I know she will help you out.
