In the last week, you may have noticed some changes around these parts. Yes, I took a step in a new direction and decided to rebrand the blog that I have loved for years. If you’re a loyal reader, you may be wondering why. Or even if this is the first post you’re seeing, you may also be pondering the switch. Why leave behind Inspired by Lynne? Why the rebrand? Well, let me tell you a few reasons why:
- The timing couldn’t be better. There have been a lot of changes around these parts with the house, baby on the way, etc. I thought if there was any time to think about a rebranding, now was it. And this is all happening before the blog gets any bigger – waiting too long may not have been as easy.
- It was time for a new direction. Though I’ve had the blog for awhile now, it’s finally getting more serious. I can’t wait to start working on it more and finding out what new opportunities lay in waiting. I have some big goals for the site and a rebrand felt like a good first step in achieving some of those dreams.
- Professionalism. The goal is that the blog directs readers to design services (coming soon) and really showcases my aesthetic and style. Kristinalynne.ca sounds so much more professional and really showcases…well me!
- The name. I want people to remember my name and the blog that comes along with it. Although I loved Inspired by Lynne and the story behind it, it ultimately confused readers who maybe aren’t as familiar with me. The amount of times people have called me Lynne are surprising and not something I considered in the initial naming process, but I understand why!
- A new look. Though the blog itself isn’t changing much and will happen gradually, I really wanted a new look in terms of an amazing logo. Working with my dear friend Kyle from Pinnacle (in Edmonton?! You need to work with him!!), we created my dream logo. The simplicity and black/white colour scheme is very me. It feels great!!
I’m really excited about the change in domain and blog name, and for the other changes that will be coming in the future! It just feels right!
But let me be honest about one thing, the rebranding process was much harder than I anticipated. I nearly had a mental breakdown at one point when my site was down. I am debating sharing a little more about that process and what I learned…any interest?! Let me know in the comments below.
And thank you for all the support! I promise that kristinalynne.ca will only get better from here! xo
YAY! Onward and upward – here’s to big things for you in the time to come! <3
Thanks girl! Right back at ya 😉 XO

hehe thanks Janna!! Kyle knows his stuff hey!
I love the new look. I would be interested in hearing more about the process. I have been wanting to start my own blog but have been struggling with the branding. I think your insight and experience could help. Thank you!
Hi Danielle! Thanks for the comment. Branding is super tricky. My process was more so changing over from a previous name which would be different for you but still valuable (hopefully!). I would love to share more for ya! And, really, when it comes down to it – go for it!! Start that blog and it IS always possible to make changes down the line. My site changed 3 times before this latest one lol
Looks great!
Thanks so much Gemma! It was great seeing you in person this past weekend 🙂
Classic and beautiful like you mama! So excited to watch you grow! XOXO
