If you know me well or have gotten a sense of my style just through reading the blog, you know I’m not big on a lot of colour. I know it’s currently so trendy to do the “all white” spaces and yes, maybe it’s even starting to get a little uninspiring, but, I’m not fazed! I love neutrals and lots of white and I’m not afraid to say it!
And yet, when I stumbled on this dining nook, I actually loved the use of colour. Granted, it’s still a neutral space, but small pops of colour in pillows, rugs or artwork is my kind of colour use in design. Pairing these gorgeous indigo, Mudcloth and vintage inspired pillows makes anyone want to jump into the nook for a cup of coffee or evening dessert. And the small glimpse of the rug perfectly marries all of the colours found on the dining bench. So, hey, maybe I’m starting to slowly convert to more colourful ways!
I also love the use of black here with the versatile dining chairs and the graphic, bold print. A bit of black in any space really helps to anchor the room and draw your eye to the right places. Plus, black dining chairs would hide any mess if you have kiddos.
So, let’s steal this dining nook’s style, shall we?!
