Last week, I shared photos of us getting ready and the amazing first look between Ryan and I. Today, it’s all about the photos!! After our first look, Kelly took us downtown to the old Army & Navy building in Edmonton. It was a dream of mine to take photos at this location and I was thrilled when he made it happen. I will apologize in advance for how many pics I cram into this post, but these wedding photos are my favourite of the bunch! The Army & Navy building has a few floors, some more sketchy than others. Kelly had just Ryan and I start on the second floor to take some shots.
I remember thinking 1) it was hot in there 2) Kelly had me looking out the window a lot! And, I would soon find out why…I mean, he even took us in this tiny stairwell that felt pretty rickety. And it was because…
Janine, my amazing friend and owner of Fabloomosity, was running up and down the stairs trying to avoid being seen. She wanted to surprise me with some gorgeous florals…and my God, did she ever. Cue the tears!! Not only did she create a giant heart on the floor and a hanging backdrop…she added a corner nook with chairs, a fireplace surround and flowers. It was too much! God, I love that woman…she has the biggest heart of anyone I know. Not to mention, my bouquet was perfection! That, my friends, is a wedding party! The best people I know! They made the day so full with love and laughter. So thankful!
My girls. Aren’t they stunning?!
The girls chose their own outfit, just needing to stay in the cream, white or blush family. I love that they picked something that was right for them, and so their personality. Like Sarah wearing a jumpsuit, Janna making hers out of like 3 other dresses and Alli doing a two piece! It worked out so well and they looked beautiful. Instead of doing the traditional bridesmaids bouquets, Janine also helped me create these gorgeous floral hair pieces for each of the girls. I thought they looked stunning and it was something a little more unique!
The Boys
Had to include a little behind the scenes shot! No, that veil does not hold itself! You need a pro like Nicole Ashley to help 🙂 We then went up another level, just Ryan, Kelly and I. He found a small nook that turned out to be the perfect place for some more shots.
And before we left, we had to do one more thing…a flower toss!
And if you’ve stuck with me this far…there you have it! Some of my favourite wedding photos from our afternoon at the Army & Navy building. Even though it was crazy hot in there, it was worth every second of sweating!
Next week, I’ll share even more photos (can you say overload?!) of the ceremony and reception! Such great memories! Thanks for stopping by everyone and sharing in our special day xoxo
