When I look back at my year, I am very grateful. Grateful for the support and love I received from all the friends, family and, of course, Ryan as I took on a lot of new ventures this year. I decided to seek new areas of creativity and challenge- I went back to school to study a passion I have long had, I started to work in new areas and made a huge job change, and of course, I started this blog. What a year!! At times, it was a major challenge to find balance and, yes, there were days where sheer exhaustion set in. But in the end, I know hard work pays off and, more importantly, I sincerely enjoy navigating this new terrain.
This blog has been a labor of love but a monstrous challenge for me! When I started in June, I don’t think I anticipated how much work it would be to get the ball going. I can see now why blogging is a full time job! But the challenge is absolutely fun and I feel like I am learning loads about this crazy blogging world and hey, even myself! When I look back through my posts this year, I can already see changes. My style is changing, my photos are (slowly) getting better, my content is improving…all great things, thank God! Right now my little baby blog is crawling (HOORAY!!!) and hopefully in this next exciting year, she can pull herself up to standing.
So let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at some of my favourite moments from 2013!
I started by paying tribute to the loveliest person I knew and launched my Inspired by series.
Other series followed after…Today I’m Talking About and Weekend Words.
I loved talking about my favourite spots in Edmonton and being a resident of the Whyte Ave. area.
I love doing round ups of great style or design pieces. My favourite fall fashion trends to try was this one featuring our lovely, local jeweller Amor.
Fashion posts with my ladies at Behind the Blush and Nicole Ashley Photography were so much fun! I can’t wait to do many more this year!
A few DIY’s I loved…my bar cart, paper bunting and gallery artwork.
Cooking tips? Not yet…but BAKING? Yes please! I loved sharing some of my fave recipes this year and who knows, maybe I’ll start cooking in 2014 (Ryan cheers in the background!)
I got to tour some incredible spaces including the new Sculpt Barre and my lovely Janna’s floral abode.
Travel is a very important part of our lives and this year one place we travelled to was Montreal with our friends. Much more travel to come in 2014
And probably my favourite moments of 2013 were when I shared snippets of design at my own home. My laundry room reno, my holiday decor and, of course, my gallery wall, which made an appearance on the lovely Sarah Swanson’s blog, Flourish Design & Style (probably my biggest highlight of 2013!!)
It was truly a wonderful year and I am so excited to see what 2014 has in store.
I have some big plans and goals that I will be sharing soon – my New Year’s resolutions if you will.
Thanks again for all the love and support. Happy 2014!
what a great year it was!! Can’t wait for 2014 will bring!
