I don’t know about you but at this time of year I am actively trying to be fit, eat healthy and shed the winter pounds in anticipation of a spring break somewhere tropical. I am also ready to be done with winter cocooning and am looking forward to what spring brings. I was recently gifted a Vitamix and have been experimenting with my 8 year old. We have come up with some amazing smoothie combinations and here are some of our favourites. But, the most fun in making smoothies is trying something new so feel free to adapt to your own tastes or pantry.
Combine the following recipes in a high powered blender and enjoy.
Raspberry Rhubarb Smoothie
- ¼ cup frozen rhubarb
- ½ cup frozen dark cherries
- ½ cup fresh raspberries
- 1 cup cranberry or pomegranate juice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp honey
- 6 ice cubes
Gingerbread Smoothie
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut, almond or soy milk
- 1 ½ tbsp. maple syrup
- 1 tsp molasses
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ginger
- 6 ice cubes
Green Smoothie
- 1 handful fresh spinach
- 1 apple
- 1/5 of an English cucumber (unpeeled)
- 1 cup coconut water
I hope you enjoy your smoothies as much as we do! xo Jacqui
These sound great – I’ve never used cucumber in a smoothie so I’m going to have to give that a try!
I have only juiced them so, me too!! 🙂
