Bedroom Dresser Styling

If you didn’t see on Instagram, Ryan and I just completed the majority of the upstairs Ravine House reno! Which meant that last weekend, we were able to move our bed, dresser and clothes up into the master. Can I get a hell yeah for finally having a closet again?!

So now that we are “officially” moving in, it’s time for me to put my bedroom design into practice. I’m really excited to show you the dresser that I got, but at the moment, I still need some items to pull it all together. I really want the dresser to have an inspiring collection of items both practical and pretty. And, at the same time, I’d love for it to look chic and stylish. So I’ve rounded up some inspiration on bedroom dresser styling and listed off some potential ideas for my own design. I would love to hear your comments below! bedroom dresser styling

Bedroom Dresser Styling Ideas:
  • Lean artwork in varying size
  • Lean a large mirror
  • Hang a mirror centred above the dresser (love the round option)
  • Use one oversized sculptural lamp for added task lighting
  • Put out a piece of pottery or bowl as a catch all for jewelry or loose change
  • Have a small collection of books with various objects acting as bookends
  • Use a tray to corral things like perfumes
  • Find some pretty candles as accents
  • Hang artwork either in a grid or as a gallery wall above
  • Look for plants to play a role – either a vase with faux flowers or a single leaf of greenery
  • Hang hooks above for hats or jewelry
  • Or…keep it really clutter free and minimalistic?!

I love a lot of these ideas but what stands out the most when I look at all these photos is the balance created. Designer tip: The secret to a styled dresser is to balance heights, think about stacking and grouping items together and pay attention to the textures and tones. This will help to keep it looking cohesive instead of chaotic.

What do you think?! Which image is your favourite? What is a must have on your own dresser?!
