It’s been awhile since I did a more personal post or any updates about our little monkey since turning 1! And then when I got these photos back from Tracey, I knew they were too cute not to share! (except maybe the naked bum shots lol, I’ll save those to embarrass him as a teenager!)
There is something really magical about this age. I love Jack’s curiosity and excitement…the fact he is a little more independent…and that his personality is just blossoming! He can be such a goof and then in the same day, a sweet and sensitive little soul. I’m also liking this age because he isn’t quite at the toddler tantrum phase, though he has started to use his voice more that’s for sure, and we’ve been able to do more activities with him (like the zoo, playgrounds etc.). I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of fun now that the weather is getting warmer.
We definitely have a water baby on our hands (can you tell?!). They’ve said the same thing at daycare…that Jack is the first one splashing and getting soaked when they do any water related activity! Daycare for Jack has only gotten better and I can thankfully say he no longer cries at drop offs. I think he really loves going now because they do so many fun things. It absolutely melts my heart seeing him be so grown up there (did you see my Insta story of him painting?! killed me!!!)
We’ve definitely hit a few challenging moments recently too…the good with the bad right? Jack has multiple teeth, including molars, coming in and that’s clearly messing with his mood. It might be the reason behind his picky eating too. Not going to lie, it’s been a struggle to get him to eat different foods but I imagine that’s pretty normal for this age.
We also transitioned to one nap to keep a more consistent routine with daycare (he only goes 3 days a week) and so that was also a bit of a process. I really have to time car rides or any outings perfectly! If he falls asleep early then I basically can kiss my work time gone, as I try to get as much as done during the nap as possible. It’s all a balancing act, right?!
I know there are more challenges on the road ahead, but as of right now, I have to say I love this stage. What was your favourite age and for what reason!?!
