Names can be really tricky, especially when it comes to naming your first born. When we found out we were having a boy, Ryan and I thought we had the perfect choice ready to go. Then, we saw how popular it was becoming and decided it probably wasn’t the best option. So, back to the drawing board we went!
We spent a few weeks trying out some options, seeing if they sounded right. And then all of a sudden, one stuck. There isn’t a great story to accompany our name choice, no connection to someone special or a specific inspiration. We just started calling him that from very early on and it never changed. In fact, it was hard for me to call him Baby Bean on social media since his name has almost always been his name!
All of our immediate family and close friends know our name, we never hid it. And so, I asked Ryan how he felt about us revealing it to the world before he was born. With his ok, I’m happy to share it with you all now!
Right before we coated our feature wall in the nursery, Ryan painted his name in big bold letters, basically sealing the deal…
Jack!! To me, it suits him already. I love that it will grow with him – sweet as a baby but strong as a young man. It works so well with our last name…oh, and it caters to my old soul too. I love a good timeless name, you know?! Plus, Ryan has already come up with about 18 different nicknames, which always make me laugh.
Tomorrow, I’ll be (FINALLY!!) sharing the nursery (!!!) where you’ll see his name pop up again in some accents and decor. I can’t wait!
XO – From Jack 🙂
