When it came to my 2014 goals, I started off the year with many! And I actually did accomplish a lot of them, surprisingly! But for this upcoming year I decided I wanted to make one, great big one. I want to take risks! I want 2015 to be all about pushing myself creatively, professionally and personally. It’s natural to question ourselves or pull back because we’re scared…should I reach out to another blogger I admire? should I attempt a 10 km run even though I’m the worst runner? should I really paint the walls black?? Yes!!! Take a risk and see what happens!
And so, with that, I’m starting off 2015 with a bold bedroom design in the hopes that it will inspire the rest of my year. I never would have thought, with my love affair with white, that I would want to go dark, but it has happened! I wanted to make a statement in our guest bedroom and a moody accent wall seemed just the ticket. A few more additions and I have a great bedroom design! Here’s the plan:
I was inspired by this photo from Pinterest | An antique brass task lamp for late night reading | A DIY print inspired by the words of Charles Dickens (stay tuned for that!) | A few accessories to create a beautiful nightstand vignette | Grey striped pillow cases and linen covers add some softness | And of course, the colour chosen: Benjamin Moore’s Raccoon Fur
Peek back tomorrow to see how the bedroom came together!!
Can’t wait to see the black wall.
Let me know if you want to do the Melissa’s 10K with me in Sept!!
That would be so fun!!
