It’s starting to get really exciting over at the Capilano Part Deux house flip so I decided I finally needed to share an update. But first, if you’ve forgotten what it looked like to start, head here to freshen your memory! Then you can really appreciate how far it has come in the last couple of months. On the exterior (sorry no photos yet), Ryan and Brendon have completed a brand new roof, painted all the window trim, eavestrough, soffits, and fascia black, which really pops. When I stopped by, Ryan was finishing the new front steps and they were looking incredible! Anyways, on to the interior!
Master Bedroom:
As you can see, a lot has happened here! Where an old hot tub pad once was, is now where the bed will be placed in the new master bedroom. Our gorgeous dark hardwood floors are done and the walls and panelling have been painted in Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace. The beams used to look pretty tacky but now, in white, they become a gorgeous feature! The trick with the master is I still need to find lighting that will hang nicely against this curved wall. A challenge for sure!
The Master Bath:
I don’t have much to show you here yet because it is really dark in this space (lighting is on my list of purchases yet)! The fact we have added a whole other full bathroom is going to be a major selling point for this house. And we were able to use some of the leftover tile we used in the Beaumont Dream House! The large square tile is stunning, don’t you think?!
The Second Bedroom:
Is currently a storage place for all the cabinets but hey, check out that floor again!! Pretty!!
The Main Bathroom:
Tub is in! And the floor tile is in! I love the herringbone pattern so I asked Ryan to lay the floor tile this way and I couldn’t be happier. The tub surround was next on his list and I chose glossy white beveled tile. Can’t wait to see that!
The Kitchen:
Here you can see the wall is gone!!! And the new pillar is built and drywalled. Picture this now clad in brick! Oh yeah!!
Checking out the new kitchen space…the cabinets are starting to go in and wait until you see it all with the tile I chose!I love that Ryan writes messaged to himself on the walls…We played around with how we will layout the kitchen island. It took a couple of tries but I think curving it around the pillar makes the most sense and still allows for really great flow throughout the kitchen. It’ll be the perfect prep or serving space! Oh and don’t fret – it won’t end up being this black brown colour…a deep dark black is coming soon…
The Back Landing & Basement:
Again, this small space is the perfect example of what a little white paint can do…it looks so fresh and clean! And I love that we kept some of the original touches that made this home so unique. Oh and take a peek at a little more herringbone tile here too…
It is almost done down here! And wow, has it come a long way! The carpet worked out perfectly and there’s so many pot lights down here, it’s practically blinding! The back bedroom has also gotten a huge facelift!
And there you go! A big house flip update for you to get you pumped for the next stage and eventually, the final reveal! We are aiming for the end of the summer so check back to see the full before & after soon!
Have a great weekend everyone! xo K
This is coming along beautifully! Did you stick with the same white throughout?
We are looking at painting our whole house and i keep leaning toward a light grey. I think all white scares me a bit, but when I see how you use it, I really love how it looks. Any suggestions?
Don’t be scared of white walls!! It’s so much easier to keep clean than you think! There is this one Benjamin moore colour called Paper White and it leans more to a soft grey. That could be really pretty for you!
Ahhh! It looks soon good! That master is gorgeous! Can I please have a tour one day?! ps – Ryan’s ‘love notes’ to himself made me chuckle. Ian does the same, haha.
Haha must be a contractor thing then! You will definitely be getting a tour…oh and I freaking love this video…RIP carpet walls! haha
Oh, & I had to share this again. May we have a moment of silence to remember the furry walls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X2bf76wn54
