A super easy DIY to try this holiday season is paper bunting. I needed to jazz up my front entry so I decided to use the twine I had bought for xmas wrapping and the paper I had on hand. This cost me next to nothing and took minimal time to complete.
You will need:
- paper
- twine, yarn or thread of some kind
- a ruler
- x acto knife
- pencil
- tape (or you could punch holes in the paper and thread your twine through)
Directions:
- Cut paper into strips (I did 2 inch wide strips)
- On each strip, measure your triangles and mark with a pencil. I did every inch alternating – so I’d measure an inch and mark on the bottom of the strip and then another inch and then mark the top of the strip, making every triangle 2 inches wide at the top.
- With your ruler and x acto knife, cut the triangles. I found it faster to put a couple strips on top of each other. Not to worry if they aren’t perfect either!
- I then taped the twine to the triangle pieces – careful to tape them at the top end so they hang nicely. I also ironed my twine down a bit first, since it had been all balled up.
- With the plain paper, I added some lettering, spelling out Peace, Love and Joy. Then, I simply attached them to the mirror in the front entry and hung some in the tree.
