It’s lovely that we dedicate a day to the mothers in our lives, though I would hope that my mom knows how much we all love and cherish her each and every day of the year. After losing her dearest love and facing a multitude of changes, I know how hard this year has been for her. And yet, she continues to show resilience and perseverance. In fact, all the women in my family are strong, beautiful and incredibly inspiring. I often think about my great grandmother and my nana (who inspired the blog and its name) and yearn for just one more day by the lake, hearing their stories. I miss them. But, I am beyond grateful for the time I did get to share with them. And though I will never get to capture four generations of women together like the picture below, I look forward to the day when I get to tell my son or daughter about all the wonderful moms who came before them and celebrate mother’s day as one myself…
My Nana and I (with my favourite Cabbage patch doll Ruby – who I still have!)
Me and my probably very exhausted mom…I was a colicky baby who mixed up her days and nights…sorry mom!
Happy Mother’s Day! xoxo
