Now it may not look like much yet, but we have made some incredible progress in the Forest Heights home. And by we, I mean Ryan and Brendon. I haven’t really gotten my hands dirty…yet! But I did stop by this past weekend to check in on how things were going and take some pictures!! If you missed out on the before photos, take a look here.
A LOT of progress has been made in the basement. We removed the big pillar that was blocking the opening to the main living area and new drywall has been added. New electric is happening too…I can’t wait to get rid of those hideous, giant fluorescent lights! In order to save on costs AND keep the space warm and inviting, we opted for carpet which will be on its way soon.
Upstairs in the master, the rounded open closet is no longer. Ryan framed in a new closet that will actually have some doors!
Speaking of doors, here is the style we decided on. Unfortunately, the original doors were pretty banged up so we had to replace them. But these are clean and match the existing panelling really well. The main bathroom upstairs is still in its demo stage. But it already feels much better having gotten rid of that grungy tile and filthy shower!
Here is the kitchen (though it may not look like it as much right now). The cabinetry was still in great condition so we are helping them find a new home. It’s now a blank canvas, ready for a whole lotta new!! I can’t wait to show you the design for this kitchen space…I think it will be a beautiful kitchen for even the savvy chefs!
We have chosen our new hardwood flooring. They will be a great contrast to the light and bright walls/kitchen cabinets etc.
And I’ve saved the best for last! Our new and improved panelling and fireplace!
How much better does it look with a fresh coat of paint, right? We are still working out the finished colour – needs to be a little less creamy – but I think this living room will be a show stopper once completed.
We have even given all the windows and trim a good refresh! What a difference cleaning and a bit of paint can make!
So? What do you think of our house flip progress?? More to come shortly – including some of my inspiration and design ideas! Thanks for checking in!
love the panelling in the living room!
Right? Love it! Ryan just repainted it too and it’s a much better white! Amazing!
