If you’ve been following my Instagram feed, you already know that I spent the last week in Montreal, primarily to attend the Osheaga Music Festival, and you’ve already seen some snapshots of all the festivities. It’s true that the festival lived up to all the hype – we had such an incredible time. I loved seeing the newcomers like Daughter overwhelmed at the reception, the cool confidence of artists like Ben Howard and Alt-J, the exciting passion from Imagine Dragons and the surprise appearance of Tegan & Sara with Macklemore on the track “Same Love.” The event was really well organized and the crowds were relaxed and happy to hear their favourite artists.
After the festival, we did get to enjoy some of the sights of the city with a stroll and dinner in Old Montreal, a trip to La Ronde, a few stops at local pubs off Saint Laurent and Saint Catherine streets and we even made a quick day trip to Quebec city. I was definitely charmed by this French metropolis and am already looking forward to another trip in the future…
A walk through time in the old streets…St Paul…Rue Notre-Dame…
How could we not sample some famous poutine…delicious!
We talked to local artists and I brushed up on my French
These cobblestones reminded me of similar walks in the streets of Paris
A stop for cold drinks at the Old Port. With beautiful scenery along the way
A trip to Quebec City to see the towering Chateau Frontenac and have yet another amazing meal.
Travelling to places like these always leaves me inspired…
