It’s day 2 in my lighting series! Today, I am talking all about lamps – both table and floor! A lot of people end up thinking about these additions pretty late in the design game; and, yes, it’s true that they can really pull a space together in the end. But I like to think about my task lighting early on – at least knowing where I want to place a lamp and then searching for the right one later on. I love a good reading lamp on a bedside table – or, an even better look is two mismatched ones on either side of the bed. A matching pair placed symmetrically on a console table or even split apart in a living room always works beautifully! When it comes to floor lamps, I love how they can steal the show in a space and still give off great light. Here are some of my top choices for the best lamps to light up a room!
- 1. I love the angular lines of this brass, tripod lamp from Circa lighting. Thinking about a different shape like this can really liven up a living room.
- A glass base like this one almost disappears. A great way to add light without taking up a lot of visual space. And its shade is a great neutral colour to fit any decor!
- What a gorgeous mercury base this lamp has! And I love its round shape!
- For something a little flirty and feminine, I love this Mimi table lamp from Serena and Lilly. It gives just the right of sculptural detail.
- I still am obsessed with this desk lamp from Ikea. It has just the right amount of detail! And it is good on the ‘ol wallet!
- Keeping with the desk lighting – this West Elm Scoop lamp is perfect for a room short on space. The open base gives you even more room to place odds and ends.
- A great shape for any room is a modern, tear drop one. This grey option from Target is such a great price.
- The last option on my list may break the bank but I couldn’t resist that gold orb base! It is elegant!
- Add just a hint of brass with this elegant floor lamp. And it gives you that variety with up and down lighting. Such a beautiful accent in a space.
- I absolutely love all of the mid century inspired floor lamps, with their high arcs and big drum shades. This grey one is retractable and it gives off a really soft, warm diffused light.
- Understated and simple, with a punch of black that almost every space needs, this floor lamp is so interesting!
- You will find a lot of tripod floor lamps these days. But I particularly love the ash wood of this one.
- A great price for this bronze one. It’s just the right amount of light for small spaces.
- This floor lamp doubles as a table. And again, I love the wooden detail.
Thank for stopping by and stay tuned for more inspiring lighting choices this week! Oh and head on over to West Elm for 20% off lighting and no shipping today!!
