I decided to launch a new series on the blog where I could talk about anything from my week & events in my life to great finds or amazing products that I want to share with readers. So “Today I’m Talking About” will grace your screens every Tuesday! And to kick things off, I wanted to talk about my crazy first week back to school/work/reality and share a bit of my day to day (in IPhone snapshots no less).
For those of you who don’t know me well, my day job is teaching in our public school system. I have taught everything from Film Studies to Musical Theatre to English but at this particular new school I am running a very busy Dance program. Last June I decided to change schools which was a difficult process but I am so very thankful to be where I am now. The students and staff have been so welcoming and the energy in this side of the school is constantly buzzing. It’s a great place to be and I am very excited to see what creative things we can do together!
Studio life means lots of socks

I am continuing to work with Nicole as a second shooter as well as a stylist. Today the team had a meeting with Amor and Chris, local jewelry designers, to talk about some really fun future endeavours. We met at a local restaurant called Three Boars and I have to say, I was very impressed with the food. I don’t usually take food photos but I just had to!
Dessert in a mason jar? Yes please!
Delicious, cold drinks and great company
Tomorrow, I start up my next design course in my program – Products & Finishes. Time to get organized and ready for projects, projects, projects!! I also am helping my mom design her home and today we picked exterior colors!
Cedar garage doors and dark grey siding and stacked stone…the white flowers were there to envision white trim.
Coffee is a big part of my every day! This week I had my first pumpkin spice latte…my fave! Get ready for pumpkin takeover this fall!
I did do some fall shopping this week too with one of my faves, Janna. Found some great staples from Loft 82 and Oak & Fort. The softest, plaid scarf ever, a leather detailed skirt, some t’s & of course, some perfect fall sweaters.
And here is a glimpse of my side of the bed…Artwork by moi and print from a vendor at Renegade Craft Sale. Small pottery ram was done by my very talented aunt and the lamp is Ikea (being replaced very soon!!)
And I just finished Wave that my dear friend Leanne recommended. It was heartbreaking.
Ava saying goodbye
Next week, I’ll be talking about one of the best books I have ever read, one of my absolute favourites…any guesses??
Love your new post!! Can’t wait for next week
Thanks Janna!!
