Last weekend I made a special trip to West Elm and West Elm Market in Vancouver because, alas, we in Alberta do not have the fabulous store! I knew I would like it since I have browsed online in the past, coveting many items. I was not let down. They had really knowledgeable staff that struck up great conversations with me and both stores were styled immaculately. They were having a great end of the season sale and I was able to snag a couple of things, but, I would have taken home a lot more if cost and transportation weren’t a factor!
Some of the items I wish I could have packed up with me…
Unfortunately, West Elm does not ship furniture or rugs to Canada, which is a big bummer for online shoppers, buuuuuuuut you can call the Vancouver (closest for me) or Toronto store and they will ship any items they have in stock. So yes, you may have to fork over some extra coins to get it to a home near you, but at least West Elm products are a possibility! With Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn opening stores in Edmonton, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we see West Elm knocking on our doors. Fingers crossed.
Until that day, I’ll enjoy the few things I managed to grab. I had two very old and ratty pillows that I had been looking to update. These new embroidered dot covers are handwoven and hand-embellished so they each look a bit unique.
By no means am I done my pillow search (I still want some different shapes and textures), but I think they are a great addition to our living room…
What do you think? Do you have any West Elm items you love??
I’ll be sure to give you a full living room tour eventually. For now, you may be interested in some of the other items in the space: Urban Barn Sofa | Urban Barn Tray | Handmade Trunk by Woodworm Customs(local) | Anthropologie K Mug |Decorate Workshop Book | Vintage Ladder from Antique Mall(local) | Ikea Curtains
